Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms govern your use of ThreatTrail. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use ThreatTrail for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
1. The service
ThreatTrail lets you upload security evidence, ask questions about it in plain language, and receive answers with citations to your sources, and generate reports. Answers are produced by AI models.
2. AI output can be wrong
AI-generated answers and reports can be incomplete, inaccurate or misleading. They are an aid to your own analysis, not a substitute for it. Verify important findings against the cited sources before relying on them, and do not treat output as legal, forensic or professional advice.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your data and permission to process it
You keep ownership of the evidence you upload and the content you create. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it, including to the third-party AI providers described in our Privacy Policy, solely to provide the service to you.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, that doing so does not breach any law, contract or confidentiality obligation, and that sending it to third-party processors is permitted for your data.
5. Acceptable use
ThreatTrail is for defensive security work, investigation and analysis. You must not:
- use it to plan, carry out or support unauthorized access, attacks, fraud or any other unlawful activity;
- upload evidence you obtained unlawfully or are not permitted to analyze;
- attempt to bypass plan limits, probe or disrupt the service, or access other users' data;
- reverse engineer the service, or resell it or its output as a competing service without our written permission;
- upload malware with the intent of distributing it. Analyzing samples as part of an investigation is fine.
We may suspend or remove access that violates these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.
6. Plans, limits and payments
Plans differ in the number of investigations, files per investigation, maximum file size, and the AI processing allowance (separate pools for chat and evidence processing). The current limits are shown in the app and on our pricing section.
- Paid plans are one-time purchases that add to your allowance. They are not subscriptions and do not renew automatically.
- Token allowances are consumed as you use the service and do not expire unless we tell you otherwise before you buy.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record and may charge applicable taxes.
- We may change prices and plan limits for future purchases. A plan you have already bought keeps the limits it was sold with.
7. Refunds
If something went wrong with a purchase, contact support@threattrail.com and we will review your request. Allowance that has already been used cannot be returned. A refunded or successfully disputed purchase removes the plan it granted.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep ThreatTrail available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice so you can export your work.
9. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of AI output.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ThreatTrail will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
11. Termination
You may stop using ThreatTrail and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law in your country of residence says otherwise.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are material we will update the date above and notify you where appropriate. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
